Michael Ladipo
Michael holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Babcock University in Nigeria, and a M.Sc. in Marketing and Management from Bradford University in the U.K. He has also completed coursework in International Business Strategy at in the ABE IMM program at EADA in Spain.
Throughout his career, Michael has made impactful contributions across various roles and organizations. Notably, he played a pivotal role in the conceptualization and implementation of the world’s largest Learning Management System (LMS) Integration project in his role as the current Country Director of Pole Global Marketing Limited. This groundbreaking initiative spans across 254 tertiary institutions in Nigeria, impacting 2.2 million students as the current.
Michael’s journey began as a marketing executive and Trade Coverage Marketing officer with Airtel, contributing to the company’s evolution from Vmobile Nigeria to Celtel and later Zain Nigeria. Post his Master’s degree, he served as an Analyst at the Lloyds Banking Group, instrumental in the acquisition of RBS bank, solidifying Lloyds bank as one of the largest banks in Europe.
He joined the Tequila family and moved back to Nigeria as an Account Manager in Tequila Nigeria a member of OMINCOM, the worlds second largest marketing communications group. He rose to become a Team Lead in the Business Development team with Tequila Nigeria; he led the team focus on developing market entry strategies and executing campaigns for global brands such as Pernod Ricard (owners of Absolut Vodka, Mumm Champagne, Olmeca Tequila etc.), Bisquit Cognac, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Hauwei Technologies, Sterling Bank, Etisalat Nigeria, MRS Oil Nigeria, Oando Group, and others.
He was head hunted by Kimberly Ryan to be the pioneer Country manager of Laureate International Universities to help establish a firm footing in the Nigerian market, which is fast becoming one of the most profitable and important hubs within the laureate group.
Michael Ladipo is the Country Manager for Laureate Online Education International in Nigeria. Laureate Online Education International is part of Laureate international Universities. It is the global leader with the largest network of Higher Education Institutions in the World with over 80 Universities in its network.
Michael served as the in-country expert advising on and managing a range of Laureate operations, which includes 3 of its universities – Walden University (US), University of Liverpool Online and University of Roehampton Online (UK). His focus includes B2B, B2G partnerships, and Marketing activities, enrollment, Regulatory and student support initiatives.
As the current Managing Partner and Country Director of Avion Partners Limited and Pole Global Marketing Limited. Michael continues to drive success in these roles by spearheading strategic initiatives, overseeing business operations, and driving organizational growth through providing visionary leadership and strategic direction. At PGM, he conceptualized the initiative for turning around Education delivery in Nigeria sponsored by Tetfund and powered by Anthology’s Blackboard.
This LMS system is been implemented across 254 universities and integrating over 2.2million students. This is the world’s largest integration project surpassing Saudi Arabia’s 1.8 million students. Blackboard will change education delivery and efficiency by making teaching more efficient and learning more accessible.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, recently given upon recognition SENIOR PROFESSIONAL MEMBER (SPMIIM) of the Institute of Information Management (IIM), Africa. He was nominated and serves as a Mara Mentor.
Michael is a lover of the arts and humanity and always finds time for his hobbies which include yachting, cooking, cuisine, fine dining, Polo, collection of contemporary art, car racing and motorbike racing (he is part founder of one of the first car racing teams in Nigeria BKG racing and Marketing Manager of Nigeria’s first racing sports apparel labels Bikerswearhouse.
He also imports wines and bubbly from South Africa, a hubby turned into a business under “WinesRUs”.
He is also a contributor to the Chief Mojisola Ladipo Spelling Bee competition, which seeks to improve literacy among the youth in Oyo state.
He is from Oyo state and an Ibadan man to the core and one day seeks to see Oyo state once more setting the pace and living up to its creed.
