Prof. Ayodeji Omole
Ayodeji Oludare OMOLE is a professor of Forest/Timber Engineering in the Department of Forest Production and Products in the Nigeria’s premier University, The University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He obtained his PhD degree in Wood Products Engineering in 2000 from University of Ibadan.
Professor Omole started his career as an Assistant Lecturer in the defunct Department of Forest Resources Management in 1997. As a dedicated researcher who is actively involved in community service, professor Omole has published several research articles in reputable peer review journals, taught as adjunct and visiting scholar Nigeria. He is a member of several professional associations within and outside Nigeria.
Professor Deji Omole can be described as a revolutionist who is always fighting for the emancipation of the masses through his activities with several groups such as Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASSUU) where he has served and still serving from 1998 till he became the Chairman from 2016 t0 2020 As ASUU Chairman, he was reputed for his courage and fearlessness critic of bad governance, mal administration, waste and corruption.
Professor Omole was appointed the Chairman of Oyo State Negotiation Committee on the sole ownership of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho by His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Oyo State. A task he carried out with distinction. This feat is widely celebrated as the best thing to have happened to LAUTECH since its establishment.
In 2022, Professor Omole was equally appointed as the Chairman, Planning and Implementation Committee saddled with the responsibility of upgrading Emmanuel Alayande College of Education to a full fledge University of Education.
Professor Deji Omole is currently serving as;
- Head, Department of Forest Production and Products, University of Ibadan
- Chairman, Senior Staff Housing Committee of University of Ibadan
- Pro Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso
- Vice-Chairman, Committee of Pro Chancellors of State Owned Universities (COPSUN).
Omo Egiri-Oke as he is popularly called by friends, admirers and well wishers is happily married with two wonderful children.
