Rt. Hon. Adebo Edward Ogundoyin is a trailblazer and a pioneer of many firsts, born on February 17, 1987, in Eruwa. Despite losing his father, Chief Adeseun Ayisa Ogundoyin, at the tender age of four, Adebo’s resilience and divine guidance propelled him forward.

 

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

 

Rt. Hon. Adebo’s academic journey began at Vale College and culminated in a degree in Agronomy from Babcock University. His path unwinding like a tapestry, he ventured into entrepreneurship, entertainment, and eventually, politics.

 

POLITICAL CAREER

 

In 2017, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP embarking on a political odyssey. Fate smiled upon him in 2018, as he won a by-election to the Oyo State House of Assembly at just 31. In 2019, the universe aligned in his favor once more, as he won his second election as a member representing Ibarapa East State Constituency. This same year, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin became the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly at the young age of 32. In appreciation of his quality leadership, his people overwhelmingly gave him their mandate for the third time in 2023. This made it the third time in a row that he won election in his constituency. When it was time to elect the Speaker for the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin was again elected unopposed by the new and returning members on June 14, 2023.

Rt. Hon. Adebo’s remarkable journey of many firsts began when he became the YOUNGEST LAWMAKER IN OYO STATE, AND NIGERIA AS A WHOLE at just 31 years old (in 2018), breaking the age long jinx and embodying the Not Too Young To Run movement.

 

His leadership prowess and potentials earned him the YOUNGEST SPEAKER IN OYO STATE AND NIGERIA at just 32 (in 2019), a testament to his exceptional abilities.

 

Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin’s achievements didn’t stop there ; he made history as the FIRST LAWMAKER TO WIN THREE CONSECUTIVE ELECTIONS in the annals of Ibarapa East State Constituency and Oyo State at large, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to public service.

 

With his third consecutive win, Rt. Adebo Ogundoyin became the HIGHEST RANKING MEMBER of the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly, and the only lawmaker to have achieved same in the history of Oyo State, solidifying his position as a respected legislator.

 

Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin’s impressive streak made him the FIRST SPEAKER TO SERVE TWO CONSECUTIVE TERMS uninterrupted, another first in Oyo State’s history.

 

His groundbreaking accomplishments extended to becoming the YOUNGEST SPEAKER TO SERVE AS THE CHAIRMAN, CONFERENCE OF SPEAKERS OF STATE LEGISLATURES OF NIGERIA. He was elected on the 16th of September, 2023.

 

With this, he set another enviable precedent as the FIRST OPPOSITION PARTY MEMBER TO LEAD CONFERENCE OF SPEAKERS OF STATE LEGISLATURES OF NIGERIA (He is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.)

 

Additionally, Adebo holds the record as the FIRST OYO STATE LAWMAKER to Lead Conference of Speakers, breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations.
